Job Description

The Collection Manager is responsible for managing and driving the debt recovery process for various loan products such as personal loans, business loans, consumer finance, and SME loans. The role involves supervising the collection team, achieving recovery targets, minimizing delinquency, and ensuring compliance with RBI and NBFC guidelines.

Key Responsibilities



1. Portfolio Management



Ensure timely follow-ups and strategies to improve bucket-wise recovery. Conduct root-cause analysis of non-payment and take corrective action.

2. Collection Operations



Allocate daily/weekly collection targets to executives and agencies. Perform field visits for high-value or critical accounts. Handle tele-calling and field collection workflows. Ensure proper documentation of interactions and repayments.

3. Team Leadership



Manage, train, and motivate field collection officers and tele-callers. Monitor agency performance, onboarding, and compliance. Conduct regular review meetings and performance scorecards.

4. Compliance & Risk Control



Ensure all collection practices adhere to RBI/industry guidelines. Maintain ethical collection standards and avoid coercive practices. Identify fraud cases and escalate as required.

5. Reporting & MIS



Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports on collections, recovery trends, and NPA movement. Track field performance, agency productivity, and cost efficiency. Present portfolio insights to management.

6. Customer Interaction



Negotiate repayment plans, settlements, and restructuring when applicable. Resolve customer issues and disputes professionally. Offer advisory to customers to avoid future delinquencies.

Skills & Competencies



Strong understanding of NBFC loan products and collections lifecycle. Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle pressure and work with delinquent customer segments. Analytical and problem-solving ability. Proficiency in MS Excel, MIS, and CRM tools. Knowledge of legal procedures (Sec 138, arbitration, recovery processes) is an advantage.

Qualifications & Experience



Graduate / Post-graduate in any discipline. 3-5 years of experience in retail loan collections (preferably NBFC or banking). Experience in managing field and tele-collection teams.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
