Job Description

To operate and monitor the coater section of the Color Coating Line to ensure uniform and high-quality paint application on metal sheets, as per defined specifications and production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate the coater machine and ensure smooth and continuous application of primer and topcoat. Set and adjust coating parameters like roll gap, speed, paint viscosity, and coating weight. Monitor coating quality (color, finish, thickness) as per customer/job card specifications. Mix and prepare paints, solvents, and cleaning chemicals as per standard ratios. Perform regular cleaning of coating heads, rollers, and trays to avoid contamination or defects. Inspect strip surface before and after coating for any issues like scratches, dents, or oil patches. Maintain logs of paint usage, coating parameters, and production output. Coordinate with quality control for shade matching and gloss/adhesion testing. Immediately report and assist in resolving coating defects like pinholes, stripes, runs, or blisters. Maintain safe handling and storage of chemicals and paints. Follow all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
