Key Responsibilities: Program Creation and Modification: Develop new CNC programs for various machining operations like milling, turning, drilling, etc., using CAD/CAM software and manual programming techniques. Modify and optimize existing programs to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time, and enhance part quality. Technical Drawing Interpretation: Read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements. Translate these specifications into accurate CNC programs. Machine Setup and Operation: Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces on CNC/VMC machines. Set up machine parameters such as feed rates, spindle speeds, and cutting depths. Perform test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate and efficient machining. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on machined parts to verify they meet specified dimensions and tolerances. Identify and troubleshoot any deviations from the desired specifications. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve issues related to machine malfunctions, tool breakage, or programming errors. Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC/VMC machines to ensure optimal performance. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and improve processes. Communicate effectively with machine operators and other team members regarding program instructions, machine setup, and quality control. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of programs, machine settings, tool lists, and quality control data. Document any modifications or updates made to the programs. Specific Skills and Knowledge: CNC Programming Languages: Proficient in G-code and M-code programming. CAD/CAM Software: Experience with CAD/CAM software packages like Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Mastercam, etc. Machine Setup and Operation: Knowledge of various CNC/VMC machines and their operational procedures. Technical Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address machining issues. Quality Control: Understanding of quality standards, measurement tools, and inspection procedures.
