Skills Required
Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC machining processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Leadership and team management abilities.
Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code, M-code).
Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software (optional but beneficial).
Roles & Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations of VMC and CNC machines.
Ensure optimal machine utilization and production output.
Allocate jobs to operators as per priority and deadlines.
Monitor cycle time, tool life, and machine efficiency.
Check the first-piece inspection and ensure compliance with engineering drawings and tolerances.
Maintain consistent quality standards during production.
Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
Lead and guide a team of CNC/VMC operators and programmers.
Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to new operators.
Schedule shift duties and manage workforce attendance.
Assist in CNC/VMC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, etc.).
Support in setting up tools, fixtures, and zero offsets.
Modify existing programs for productivity and quality improvement.
Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Identify machine faults and help in troubleshooting issues.
Maintain tool inventory and replace worn-out tools timely.
Maintain daily production reports, rejection records, and tool usage logs.
Maintain records of program changes and revisions.
Ensure all ISO/TS/AS certifications and documentation standards are followed.
Implement lean manufacturing and 5S practices.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and scrap.
Suggest and lead Kaizen projects for operational efficiency.
Ensure optimal machine utilization and production output.

Sets up machines and equipment, programs machine and makes any modifications
Requisition tooling & raw material required to meet production goals.
Examines items produced to determine if items meet specifications.
Develops and manages production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment to meet production goals, per production planner and requested prototype jobs from Engineering.
Interprets specifications, Layout drawings, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Maintains time and production records.
Confers with other supervisors and functional groups to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Performs activities of workers supervised, this a "hands on position"
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
In their daily activities this person will direct up to 10 employees in the CNC & VMC Department.
Responsibilities include interviewing, training employee, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems, always leading.
