The CNC & VMC Operator is responsible for operating CNC and Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, quality standards, and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Operate CNC and VMC machines as per approved programs
Load and unload components and ensure proper clamping
Monitor machining operations to ensure accuracy and quality
Perform basic machine setup (tool offsets, zero setting)
Inspect components using measuring instruments
Read and understand engineering drawings and tolerances
Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish
Identify tool wear and inform supervisors for replacement
Maintain production and inspection records
Follow safety procedures, 5S, and housekeeping standards
Perform basic machine cleaning and preventive maintenance
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of CNC turning and VMC machining operations
Basic understanding of G-code and M-code
Ability to read technical drawings
Familiarity with measuring tools (vernier, micrometer, bore gauge)
Attention to detail and quality consciousness
Willingness to work in shifts
Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, CNC Machining, or related field
1-15 years
of experience as CNC/VMC Operator
