Job Description

Operate CNC machines:

Run computer numerical control machines to produce precision parts.

Set up machines:

Install and adjust tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to specifications.

Load and unload materials:

Handle the loading of raw materials and the unloading of finished products.

Program/edit machines:

Input or edit machine programs, often using G-code, to optimize performance.
Quality control and inspection

Inspect finished products:

Check the quality of parts using measuring tools to ensure they meet specifications and standards.

Verify calculations:

Ensure that all measurements and calculations are accurate before setting up the machinery.

Monitor operations:

Continuously observe the machines during operation to maintain efficiency and quality.
Maintenance and troubleshooting

Perform routine maintenance:

Conduct regular maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning to keep machines in optimal working order.

Troubleshoot issues:

Diagnose and fix minor malfunctions or problems that arise during operation.
Documentation and safety

Maintain records:

Keep detailed logs of production data, maintenance activities, and any nonconformities.

Adhere to safety rules:

Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
