The Role
We are seeking an
experienced and dedicated CNC/VMC Programmer and Setter
to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and quality of components that drive the efficiency of agricultural equipment.
Key Responsibilities1. Programming & Software
Develop, optimize, and edit CNC programs (G-code and M-code) for 3, 4, and 5-axis Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) and CNC lathes/milling machines.
Should know Manual programming and additionally can utilize
CAD/CAM software
to generate tool paths, focusing on maximizing material yield and component precision.
Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine optimal machining processes, tooling, and fixturing for
agricultural machinery parts
.
2. Setting & Operation
Perform complete machine setup, including mounting and aligning fixtures, setting tool offsets, and machine zeroing.
Select, install, and adjust the correct cutting tools and materials (including standard mild steel and high-tensile alloys common in ag-machinery).
Execute test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure first-off components pass stringent quality checks.
3. Quality & Process Improvement
Perform in-process inspection and measurements using precision instruments to confirm components meet required tolerances (crucial for reliable implement performance).
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, machine alarms, tool wear, and programming errors to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
Work proactively to improve machining efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize material waste.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience:
Minimum
3+ years
of hands-on experience as a CNC/VMC Programmer, Setter, or Machinist, preferably within the heavy engineering or automotive/agricultural sector.
Education:
A
Degree or Diploma
in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related technical field is required.
Technical Skills:
Deep knowledge of machining practices, feeds and speeds, and the properties of materials used in high-stress mechanical components.
