Job Description

A CNC programmer should be creative, perceptive, detail-oriented and an active learner. Top candidates will have exceptional critical thinking, time management and communication skills, an ability to handle complex machines and tools, and a willingness to lead by example in the workplace.

CNC Programmer Responsibilities:

Program and set up of CNC lathes. Optimize programs for cycle time reduction, tool life, and maximum OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). Interpret engineering drawings and ensure precision in part production. Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters. Troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues independently. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet delivery and quality targets. Maintain machine maintenance schedules and ensure safe working practices. Analyzing information and finding the best solutions to problems. Maintaining clear and honest communication at all times. Keeping the work environment safe. Learning and applying the latest relevant knowledge to the work.

CNC Programmer Requirements:

Deep understanding of tool selection, G-code programming, and machine capabilities. Experience in a production environment with a focus on maximizing throughput and efficiency. Ability to work independently, read technical drawings, and maintain high-quality standards. Problem-solving mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement. 1-2 years' experience is preferred. Strong analytical and communication skills. Ethical behavior. Attention to detail and self-motivation.
