Job Description

A CNC machine operator in the wood industry programs, sets up, and operates specialized machines to manufacture or repair wood parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products.?

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, program, and operate CNC woodworking machines, such as saws, lathes, routers, planers, drills, and sanders, according to production schedules and work orders.? Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or verbal instructions to ensure accurate machining and product quality.? Monitor machinery during operation, making necessary adjustments to maintain efficient production and high-quality outputs.? Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of machines, and replace parts as needed to ensure optimal functioning.? Inspect completed pieces for accuracy and conformance to specifications, conducting regular assessments and recording operational data.? Adhere to strict safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe working environment.?

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Basic to advanced understanding of CNC machining principles, including programming and troubleshooting (knowledge of G-code and M-code is often preferred).? Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.? Attention to detail and commitment to quality production.? Proficiency with measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.? Physical ability to handle standing, bending, lifting materials, and performing repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.?
