The CNC Operator should have a strong understanding of CNC programming, machine setup, and tool selection. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality precision parts. The CNC Operator should have a strong understanding of CNC programming, machine setup, and tool selection. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines according to specifications and instructions.
- Load raw materials into the machine and secure them properly.
- Interpret and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
- Write and edit CNC programs using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools for each job.
- Monitor machine operations, making adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the production process.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines.
- Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to optimize production processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical education or CNC certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and CAM software.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC machines independently.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and precision in work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic math skills and understanding of measurements.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move heavy materials.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a manufacturing setting.
