Set up and operate CNC machines (turning, milling, VMC, VTL etc.) according to job orders, engineering drawings, and standard operating procedures.
Load raw materials and fixtures; select correct cutting tools; ensure proper tool offsets.
Monitor machining process; check parts during and after machining for dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM?based instructions.
Make necessary adjustments of machine settings or programs to maintain quality and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of machines; report problems and perform minor troubleshooting.
Follow safety, environmental, and quality protocols. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Record production data (machine hours, output, downtime, scrap etc.).
Coordinate with quality control, maintenance, and production planning teams to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 10th / 12th pass; technical/vocational certification or ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Tool & Die / CNC or equivalent would be an advantage.
Prior experience (1?2 years) operating CNC machines, ideally in heavy metal/casting machining environments.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications.
Familiarity with CNC programming & codes (G?code / M?code) is a plus.
Good knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges etc.).
Basic mechanical aptitude - ability to troubleshoot small issues, change tools, align fixtures.
Physically fit: capable of standing for long hours; handling heavy materials.
Able to work shifts; punctual, disciplined, safety?conscious.
