We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machining Manager to oversee our machining operations within a dynamic manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in machining processes and leadership, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the ability to manage a team effectively and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
Lead and manage the machining department, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to production schedules.
Oversee CNC programming, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machine operations, ensuring precision and quality in all machined parts.
Utilize CAD software for blueprint reading and design modifications as necessary.
Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards in machining processes, utilizing precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Train and mentor team members on machining techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation, including programmable logic controllers (PLC) and flexo presses.
Coordinate materials handling and fabrication processes to optimize workflow on the assembly line.
Manage tooling requirements for various machining tasks, ensuring proper maintenance and availability of tools.
Collaborate with other departments to streamline production processes, improve efficiency, and reduce waste.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing facility.
Experience
Proven experience in a machining management role or similar position within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in machining processes such as stamping press operations, press brake machine usage, and welding techniques.
Familiarity with Fanuc systems and CAM programming is highly desirable.
Experience in quality control practices within a manufacturing setting is essential.
Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for design purposes.
Ability to read blueprints accurately and translate them into actionable tasks for the team.
Basic math skills are required for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
