Job Description

A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine designer creates the programs and designs that instruct CNC machines to produce parts and components. They interpret blueprints, develop 3D models, and write code to guide the machine's movement and cutting process. Key Responsibilities:

Blueprint Interpretation:

Analyze technical drawings and specifications to understand part requirements.

3D Modeling:

Create 3D models of the part using CAD software.

Program Development:

Write CNC programs using CAM software to define cutting paths, tool movements, and other machine parameters.

Test Runs and Adjustments:

Conduct test runs to verify program accuracy and make necessary adjustments to ensure the part meets specifications.

Machine Setup:

Prepare and set up CNC machines for specific tasks, including selecting appropriate cutting tools and fixtures.

Quality Control:

Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

Problem Solving:

Troubleshoot issues with machine operation and program performance.

Collaboration:

Work with other engineers, machinists, and technicians to ensure smooth production.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Documentation:

Maintain records of programs, settings, and production data.
