The CNC Lathe Machine Operator is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce high-quality precision components. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture components as per technical drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Set up machines, including tooling, fixtures, and materials, for production runs.
Monitor machine operations to ensure precision and quality.
Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to meet specifications.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines.
Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) for quality assurance.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues.
Maintain production records and report any defects or malfunctions.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification preferred.
Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines.
Knowledge of G-code programming and CNC machine operations.
Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and tolerances.
Skilled in using measuring and inspection tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
Exposure to noise, oil, and machinery.
May require standing for long periods and handling heavy materials.
Shift work may be required depending on production schedule.
Reporting & Communication:
Reports to the Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Lead.
Communicates machine issues, production status, and safety concerns effectively.
