The Carrier Management Team Member oversees relationships with transportation carriers, ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics operations. This role involves evaluating carrier performance, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams to optimize shipping strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing carriers and identify new carrier opportunities.
Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze carrier performance metrics, including delivery times, costs, and service quality.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions with carriers for optimal pricing and service levels.
Collaboration: Work closely with the logistics, procurement, and operations teams to ensure alignment on carrier strategies and requirements.
Problem Resolution: Address any issues or discrepancies related to carrier performance, including service failures or billing disputes.
Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to enhance carrier selection and management strategies.
Reporting:
Prepare regular reports on carrier performance and cost analysis for management review.
