1. Role Purpose
To support the psychological, emotional, behavioural, and academic well-being of students by providing counselling services, guidance, early intervention, crisis support, and preventive mental-health initiatives across the university.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Student Counselling & Support
Provide individual counselling sessions for students facing emotional, academic, personal, or behavioural challenges.
Offer short-term therapeutic support and refer students to external specialists when necessary.
Maintain confidential case records and follow ethical counselling practices.
Conduct crisis intervention for students in distress, emergencies, or high-risk situations.
B. Mental Health & Wellness Programs
Plan and conduct workshops, seminars, and awareness programs on stress management, anxiety, time management, motivation, relationships, and overall well-being.
Design and implement university-level mental-health campaigns and preventive initiatives.
Collaborate with faculty and departments to integrate wellness activities into academic environments.
C. Student Assessment & Intervention
Identify early signs of distress or behavioural issues and provide timely interventions.
Conduct psychological assessments (basic level) if trained and authorised.
Provide academic guidance related to concentration, motivation, and performance.
D. Coordination & Communication
Work closely with student services, hostel wardens, faculty mentors, and administration on student support needs.
Provide guidance to faculty and staff on handling students experiencing distress.
Maintain professional communication while protecting student confidentiality.
E. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain secure and confidential counselling records as per institutional policy.
Submit case reports, monthly counselling data, and wellness program progress (without violating confidentiality).
Contribute to policy development related to student wellness and safety.
3. Qualifications & SkillsEducation
Master's in Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Clinical Psychology.
(Preferred) M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology.
Licensure/registration as per statutory norms (optional but advantageous).
Experience
Minimum 2-5 years of counselling experience, preferably in educational institutions.
Experience handling adolescent/young adult mental-health issues.
Technical & Professional Skills
Proficiency in counselling techniques, crisis management, conflict resolution.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Strong interpersonal, listening, and empathy skills.
Good communication, documentation, and presentation abilities.
Personal Attributes
Compassionate, patient, non-judgmental, and student-centric.
Able to work with diverse student communities.
Emotionally resilient and able to manage high-stress situations.
4. Work Conditions
Full-time campus presence.
Flexible availability for urgent student-support needs.
May require conducting evening or weekend sessions/programs.

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month
