Job Summary:



We are seeking an experienced

CMM Programmer

to support our quality assurance operations in a precision gear manufacturing environment for the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines to ensure components meet strict quality and dimensional standards as per engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop, write, and validate CMM programs using software such as

PC-DMIS

,

Calypso

, or similar (based on equipment). Interpret

GD&T

, engineering drawings, and CAD models to create accurate inspection routines. Set up and operate CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections on gears and related components. Conduct

first article inspections (FAI)

, in-process checks, and final inspection of automotive gear parts. Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation for traceability. Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve dimensional issues and ensure process control. Calibrate and maintain CMM and other precision measuring instruments. Analyze CMM data to identify trends and support root cause analysis of non-conformances. Ensure compliance with

IATF 16949

,

ISO 9001

, and customer-specific quality standards.

Requirements:



Education & Experience:



Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3+ years of experience as a CMM programmer in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or precision gear machining.

Skills:



Will report to the Quality Manager and will be responsible for the CMM machine. Strong understanding of

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

. Must have minimum of one + year experience in operating CMM machine preferably Carl Zeiss make machine Must have knowledge to prepare the inspection program in CMM for the item brought to CMM inspection. Has to maintain the inspection log at CMM room Responsible for Maintaining the CMM room and the machine. Co-ordinations with Carl Zeiss for any improvements and clarifications. Responsible for Maintaining the records pertain CMM inspection. To create a SOP for CMM as required. Support and do other activities as and when it is assigned. Familiarity with gear inspection standards (e.g., AGMA, ISO). Experience working with CNC-machined components and high-precision measurement tools. Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and CAD models. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:



Experience with gear measurement systems (e.g., Klingelnberg, Gleason). Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and data analysis tools. Prior experience in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
