Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)

.

Key Responsibilities of a CMM Operator in Automotive Manufacturing

Operating CMM Machines

- Using CMMs to measure and inspect automotive parts against

engineering blueprints and CAD models

.

Interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

- Ensuring compliance with critical tolerances for safety and performance.

Programming CMM Software

- Writing or modifying measurement programs using

PC-DMIS, Calypso, or Mitutoyo MCOSMOS

to automate inspections.

Performing Quality Inspections

- Checking machined components, castings, plastic parts, or assemblies for

defects, warpage, or deviations

.

Documentation & Reporting

- Generating inspection reports and analyzing data for

quality assurance and process improvement

.

Collaborating with Engineers & Production Teams

- Working with design, production, and quality engineers to resolve manufacturing issues.

Calibrating & Maintaining CMM Machines

- Ensuring accuracy by calibrating equipment and troubleshooting any measurement inconsistencies.

Skills Required for a CMM Operator in the Automotive Industry

? Proficiency in CMM operation & programming (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, etc.)
? Strong knowledge of

GD&T and blueprint reading

? Experience with

automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001)

? Understanding of

SPC (Statistical Process Control)

? Ability to troubleshoot measurement discrepancies
? Basic machining or manufacturing knowledge

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
