We are looking to hire a Glow & Lovely CMI Lead based in Mumbai HO

Background

Glow and Lovely (GAL) is an iconic brand with strong presence in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, KSA, UAE, Egypt and Indonesia. In most of these markets GAL is the No 1 Face Care brand largely driven by its strong presence in the Brightening segment and its ability to drive market development in the Face Care category recruiting new users. GAL portfolio spans face cream, face wash and BB cream.
Skin Care, particularly Face Care, is a dynamic and rapidly evolving category. As a leading brand, GAL has an exciting opportunity to keep pace with the evolving consumer and their changing needs via bringing relevant, proven, purposeful, desirable and accessible face care mixes to help transform their skin.

About the Role
In this role, you will be the lead CMI partner for Glow & Lovely partnering and collaborating with both the global brand team, cross functional teams and global & local CMI. Working interdependently you will inspire, provoke, steer and enable end-to-end insights from strategy through to multi-year execution in market. You will spend your time:


  • Working end to end to fuel insights and thought leadership across brand positioning, brand health, architecture, mix development, brand engagement, media and sales channel, shopping and operational excellence to deliver the brand\xe2\x80\x99s objectives and key results

  • Being both a data and deep insights driven, full funnel CMI partner, rapidly experimenting & engaging

  • Be a growth catalyst, challenger and enabler for GAL and the Beauty & Wellbeing business by being on the pulse of shifting consumer & customer needs, trends, inspiration and opportunities for growth \xe2\x80\x93 both short term and long term

  • Driving a virtuous cycle of insights and an independent, rigorous and deeply insightful point of view from performance tracking to sharpen brand and R&D jobs to be done, spearheading Beauty & Wellbeing\xe2\x80\x99s Golden Triangle of CMI, Marketing and R&D


On top of GAL responsibilities, as a senior member of the CMI team you will have the opportunity to contribute to the larger B&W and CMI agenda.

This role sits within the Beauty & Wellbeing part of Unilever. You will have 2 direct reports. This role reports to the CMI Director for Global Skin Care who is not co-located.

.About You
This is an end-to-end CMI role that will allow you to influence growth insights. You will be most successful in this role when

  • You are an experienced brand crafter, passionate about spotting & bringing real insights to outcome value

  • You bring the outside-in, via trends & inspiration, market and competitive understanding

  • You have innovation experience, master the Innoflex process; and know the principles of growth hacking and performance marketing and core tenants, even if not formally trained

  • You bring a passion for content, media and channel insights

  • You are a powerhouse of cultural & creative insights in local contexts

  • You have a passion for the digital world/ are digital native, digital marketing best practices and its implications for brands/ business from digital content to influencer marketing to eComm innovation

  • You drive channel first thinking when it comes to developing content, architectures and assortments

  • You have an eye for design and a passion for beauty

  • You are able to use & connect multi source data and insights to drive simple and compelling stories, but are not afraid to share your opinion based on experience, learning & inspiration

  • You are at ease with presenting to senior level execs

  • You are well versed with all market research techniques and methodologies including analytics and modelling, with ability to challenge rigour, fit for purpose and create and adapt approaches and methods


It\xe2\x80\x99s likely that:

  • You have 10+ years of CMI research experience

  • You have global experience/ worked on many global brands

  • You have experience of end to end insights from strategy to design to execution and operational excellence

  • You have had global research experience, preferably in the beauty and / or hair care sectors


You\xe2\x80\x99re not:

  • Of fixed mindset. This role needs to fuel growth for an amazing brand, and the job-holder will be flexible, creative, and agile

  • Flustered with juggling many things; and are able to use judgement for effective prioritization

  • Wedded to linear and fixed brand /people partnering, status, hierarchies and \xe2\x80\x98size\xe2\x80\x99 domains of teams, direct reports, etc. You will flow to work where the growth is

  • Afraid to fail fast and learn from experience; instead, you believe coding best practices for future initiatives

  • Someone who only answers to briefs. You initiate and co-create briefs, interrogate briefs. You go beyond briefs in response to a business question to spot opportunities/challenges independently

  • Someone who waits for testing results/research outcomes to input into the development process. You voice your opinions and influence in time for action

  • Someone who\xe2\x80\x99s afraid to call a spade a spade and make tough decisions, even when unpleasant or unpopular
