The Cluster Manager will be responsible for driving primary and secondary sales across general trade outlets in Bangalore city. The role includes managing a team of ASEs and Merchandisers, strengthening distributor relationships, improving market execution, and delivering monthly revenue, visibility, and distribution targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual primary & secondary sales targets.
Drive numeric and weighted distribution across GT outlets.
Expand retail footprint through new outlet activation and product placement.
2. Distributor Management
Manage distributor operations including stock forecasting, claim settlements, and ROI monitoring.
Ensure timely order booking, billing, and replenishment.
Track stock hygiene, ageing, and ensure healthy inventory levels.
3. Team Management
Lead and motivate a team of ~10 (ASEs + Merchandisers).
Conduct regular market visits, joint working, and on-the-job coaching and ensure that 25 Bill cuts, 12 line cuts and 85% productivity is ensured for each asset.
Set daily/weekly targets for ASEs and review performance.
Train the team on product knowledge, sales processes, and in-store execution standards.
4. Market Execution
Ensure perfect store standards: visibility, planogram compliance, POS deployment.
Track merchandising activities across top outlets.
Monitor competition activities, pricing, and trade promotions.
5. Planning & Reporting
Prepare beat plans, route audits, and market coverage plans.
Analyse sales data to identify gaps and opportunities.
Share daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports with leadership.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of general trade operations in Bangalore.
Proven experience managing GT teams and distributors.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting tools, and CRM/SFA apps.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate / MBA preferred.
7 to 12 years of FMCG sales experience in General Trade.
Minimum 4 years in a supervisory or team-handling role.
Strong understanding of Bangalore market geography and GT channel dynamics
Knowledge of regional language + Malayalam is apart from English is preferrred
