Cloud SW Appliance Integration (Senior) Engineering Manager

Mission (Why does this role exist?) and Scope (About the Job)
For our Cloud and Digital Group, Appliance Integration team, we seek Hands-On (Senior) Engineering Manager who can work on designing & implementing high quality scalable cloud software while providing technical leadership/mentoring to a small team of talented developers in agile environment. Your ability to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of maintainable, high-quality, and high-performing web applications (Java microservices, SQL & NoSQL Database, Java Script React UI, Node.js, ROR, AWS). IOT experience and mobile applications (iOS, Android, Hybrid) is good to have for this role. Provide hands-on technical expertise to design, engineer, deploy, and deliver highly scalable cloud applications. Drive improvements in technical architecture, standards, and processes. Drive engineering excellence while managing/mentoring talented team of developers in agile environment. Work closely with product management and other stakeholders for system design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Outcomes (What the Person needs to accomplish in the role ?)

• Strong SW development knowledge in a combination of Java/Spring boot, micro services, SQL& NoSQL databases, AWS, React/Java script, ROR, Python, Node.js, web frameworks/web technologies and mobile frameworks/ technologies. Experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design
• Shaping architecture for robust, reliable, and high-performance applications, considering functional and technical requirements.
• Manage/Mentor team of talented leads/developers. Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders.
• Estimate/Plan/Manage project deliverables in Agile environment with incremental system delivery.
• Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning is a plus.
• Good knowledge in version control and branching concepts (git, mercurial)
• Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
• Collaborate with other professionals to determine technical requirements for new software or applications
• Provide inputs for the functional specifications of the components
• Review definition and development of user experience of the product
• Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
• Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
• Successfully communicate all concepts and guidelines to development team
• Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
• Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.
• Review code quality and architectural soundness to approve final product before launch
• Ability to influence various stakeholders on technical proposals.
• Prior experience with use of JIRA, Confluence, and collaboration tools.
• Strong experience with Agile software development. Good Exposure to TDD and BDD based development methodologies with strong focus on CI/CD.

Qualifications: Education, Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Behaviour) and Experience

  Minimum Qualifications
  • B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science or related discipline from Top Institute. Strong academics and career track record.
  • 15+ years of solid software development experience in building secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-based systems. 5+ year experience managing teams.
  • Proven experience as software technical lead/manager/architect with cloud and digital SW
  • Excellent knowledge of software implementation, design and architecture of Web and Mobile apps.
  • Proven experience in working with AWS (preferably) or GCP or Azure.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and logging tools.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles (SOLID, design patterns etc.)
  • Strong understanding of SOA and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of Functional or OOP patterns.
  • Experience in Web and Mobile software development and coding in various languages (Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Java, React, Python etc.). Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design
  • Strong understanding of database design.
  • Strong understanding of REST principles.
  • Strong understanding of browser environments and cross-browser compatibility nuance
  • Exceptional coding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • IOT Based product functionality knowledge
  • Understanding of software quality assurance and security principles
  • A technical mindset with great attention to detail
  • Agile Software Development experience with Kanban/Scrum, TDD/BDD and CI methodologies
  • High quality organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication (verbal, written) and presentation abilities
  • Positive team player attitude with conflict management and influencing skills.
  • Experience managing/mentoring team members and/or leading teams.

  • Exposure or knowledge in Renewable Tech companies and IOT Systems
  • Familiar with working with any embedded or telecom or hardware product is desirable
