Cloud Site Reliability Engineer - Experian Information Technology Services (EITS)

Experian are currently looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Dynamic and growing Information Technology Services group, within the Platform Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled team of engaged technical specialists working in a fast-paced environment.

Experian are currently making huge investments in cutting edge technology and this role will be at the forefront of our technical transformation. We are constantly looking at how we can be creative in the way we deliver solutions to our clients and as part of this role you will be challenged to find efficiencies through automation, working closely with our internal and external clients to deliver innovative solutions, whilst modernising our distributed environment through first class execution and input into future strategy.

Cloud Site Reliability Engineers should have knowledge of automating Infrastructure creation, deployment, and management in private, public and hybrid cloud models. You will have a solid grasp of automating Infrastructure within AWS using Terraform and Ansible as well as proficiency in other scripting languages such Python and PowerShell. You will have a hands-on approach and be able to work from high-level architecture to detailed design and implementation using DevOps and SRE approaches.

The Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for: -

• Delivery of high-quality infrastructure as code solutions across the Experian Cloud estate.
• Collaborate with Software Development teams, Product Managers, and Business Owners to ensure smooth deployment and operation of systems.
• Build CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of both large and small-scale systems.
• Automate tools to monitor system health and reliability to support business process requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
• Communicate status and risks to the product teams.
• Technical planning, code creation and execution within a self-organised Agile team
• Development of and adherence to policies and procedures to ensure all work is executed to a high standard
• Communication of team progress and roadmaps
• Continual improvement of quality and efficiency of delivery

As such, we are looking for someone that has experience of working in a medium to large environment with extensive knowledge of AWS, automation, product development and Agile methodologies. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have strong communication and interpersonal skills with a solid technical background in automation skillsets such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines

Qualifications

Technical Skills - Core

• Proven track record and experience of managing workloads in AWS
• Good understanding of key Architectural principles such as High availability, disaster recovery and platform resiliency
• DevOps skillset such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins
• Scripting and automation experience - i.e. Python, PowerShell, YAML, GIT
• Atlassian Suite - Jira, Confluence as well as Bitbucket
