Job Title: CLOUD DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (Cloud DBA)

Experience: 7+ Years

Employment Type: Contract (6 Months - Extendable up to 1 Year)

Work Mode: Remote (1-2 days per month onsite at any client location)

Client Locations: Gurgaon, Noida, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune

Working Hours: 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM IST

Position Summary:-

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in managing, optimizing, and securing databases across major cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both relational and non-relational databases, cloud migrations, automation, and performance tuning in production environments.

This role requires a proactive professional with deep knowledge of cloud-native database services, security best practices, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:-

Database Management:

Deploy, manage, monitor, and optimize relational, non-relational, and hybrid databases on cloud platforms.Ensure high availability, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Cloud Migration:

Support and execute database migration projects from on-premises to cloud environments.Perform database assessments, migration planning, execution, and post-migration validation.

Security & Compliance:

Implement strong database security controls including encryption, access management, auditing, and compliance.Ensure adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.

Automation & Monitoring:

Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting.Monitor database performance and health using tools such as Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, and Prometheus.

Collaboration:

Work closely with application development, infrastructure, and operations teams to align database solutions with business requirements.Participate in design discussions and provide database architecture guidance.

Technical Skills & Proficiencies:-

Databases:

Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server

Good-to-have experience with: Oracle, MySQL; NoSQL databases such as Cassandra

Cloud Platforms:

Hands-on experience managing databases on:AWS; Microsoft Azure; Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Scripting & Automation:

Experience with PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting for automation and operational efficiency

Monitoring & Performance:

Familiarity with Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, or similar monitoring tools

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

5+ years of overall database administration experience

Minimum 2+ years of cloud-based DBA experience

Cloud certifications are a plus: AWS Certified Database - Specialty ; Azure Database Administrator Associate
