What You\'ll Do

This Role will be of Cloud Data Platform Ops Lead who will be working as part of Private Cloud Database & BAR Ops & managing public cloud customer for cross tower responsibilities for the Cloud Ops L2 team, which is eventually responsible for all Cases/Incidents, Changes, Upgrades across TD cloud platform, customer communication, Problem management, driving automation, process creation, knowledge Base, reporting etc.

Few core responsibilities though not limited to would be as below.

Manage and support 24x7 production databases as well as development databases to ensure maximum availability of database resource for various applications.

He should perform the DBA related tasks in key areas of System Administration, Database Administration, Backup, Archive & Restore Management, Performance Management & Reporting

Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, Strategies defined for backup/recovery techniques, and problem determination and resolution, customer communication, driving automation, reviewing process.

Private Cloud DBA & BAR

  • System Performance monitoring.
  • Exposure to tools like Teradata Administrator/SQL Assistant /TSET etc.
  • User, Objects and Security management as per Teradata Best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in using DSA
  • Exposure to other backup and restore process using Veritas netBackup(TARA)/netvault/Tivoli etc.
  • Exposure to manage the Development/QA boxes.
  • Exposure as an Development DBA.
  • Well conversant with various ticketing system/production change request
  • Exposure to MVC, Capacity planning and performance Management.
  • Hands-on experience in Statistics Management
  • Exposure to troubleshoot the FastLoad / Multiloading/ FastExport/ BTEQ/ TPT and should be good at error handling.
  • Exposure to DWH Env (Knowledge of ETL/DI/BI Reporting).
  • Exposure to Utilities
  • Coordinate Software/Hardware Upgrade Activities.
  • Ensure Teradata Polices, Procedures, Customer SLA\'s are honored.
  • Exposure to PDCR Reporting and Analysis.
  • Strong debugging skills
Cloud Data Platform Ops

1. Customer Focus:
  • Have a complete end-to-end view of the customer\'s landscape and day-to-day functioning of the cloud infra.
  • Understand critical customer\'s unique needs and priorities.Primary point of contact for designated critical customers for L2 ops team, addressing concerns, inquiries, and service needs promptly and effectively leveraging SNOW.
2. Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee and optimize cloud operations for critical customers, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of their services.
  • Prioritize and manage incoming tickets from critical customers, ensuring timely resolution and proactive communication throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with Operations Leads to coordinate and execute changes, maintenance activities, and upgrades, minimizing disruption to critical customer environments.
  • Ensure to get the changes/mw approved and scheduled properly to avoid clashes and sometimes take advantage etc..
3. Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Act as a bridge between critical customers (and SEMs) and internal L2 operations teams, facilitating effective communication and understanding of customer requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including L3, GSO to address critical customer needs and align operations with their expectations.
  • Advocate Do-No-Harm, Peer Review and Sop adherence while handling the Changes, Incidents, Cases being worked upon by L2 team
  • Ensure traction on the tickets assigned to non-L2 teams
  • Understand the requirements, complexity of the SNOW ticket and help decide which SNOW assignment group to work on it and move tickets accordingly
4. Continuous Improvement:
  • Analyze operational processes and identify opportunities for streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency in managing critical customer environments.
  • Provide feedback and insights to L2 Ops, Cloud Service Delivery and Platform Management based on customer experiences to contribute to product/service improvements and enhancements.
5. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Daily review of all the open cases, incidents and Changes and work with L2 ops teams/leads to drive to closure.
  • Track historical learnings for the sites and ensure established processes are always followed for the site.
  • Strive to be available on the bridge during S1 situations and contribute/drive as necessary where possible (best efforts basis).
Implement and maintain monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track the performance of critical customer services, ensuring adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
  • Generate regular performance reports and dashboards to share insights with internal stakeholders and critical customers.
  • Track the PCAs, Action items and prevention mechanisms for the critical customer sites the role is accountable for.
Who You\'ll Work

This Role will be Cloud Data Platform Ops Lead role working as part of Private Cloud Database & BAR Ops & Customer Manager for Selected public cloud customers for the Cloud Ops L2 team, which is eventually responsible for all Cases/Incidents, Changes, Upgrades across TD Private cloud platform, customer communication, Problem management, driving automation, process creation, knowledge Base, reporting etc.

This will be reporting into Delivery Manager as Cloud Data Platform Ops Lead role.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
  • Engineering Graduate
  • 11 - 12 years of IT experience.
  • 2 - 3 years of DBA experience
  • 2 - 3 years of Linux admin hands on
  • 4-5 Years on customer handling
  • Knowledge of the public cloud area, certification preferred.
  • Working experience as a DBA in Teradata or Oracle
  • Knowledge in multi cloud platform will be added value.
  • There needs to be good understanding of ITSM tools and ITIL process.
  • Has to have some reporting and analytics understand.
  • Excellent presentation, communication skills.
  • Good team player and ability to mentor small groups.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
What You\'ll Bring
  • 4 Year Engineering Degree or 3 Year Master of Computer Application.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
  • Must be willing to provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis with the team.
  • Must be willing to travel - both short-term and long-term
  • Understanding of Logical Data Model/Physical Data Model.
  • Understanding of Normalization and De-normalization concept.
  • Must have ITIL knowledge.
  • Ability to write efficient SQL & exposure to query tuning.
  • Should have good working knowledge on UNIX shell scripting and Python skills.
  • Should have good understanding of data archive/restore policies.
  • Should be good at automating various processes.
  • Should be good at users/objects/rights management.
  • Some experience in an environment where ETL/BI tools such as Informatica, DataStage, Business Objects, SAS, and MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI were an important part of the environment.
  • Experience with Teradata in a cloud environment (public or private) a plus.
  • ITIL, RHEL or MCSE or other relevant certifications are desirable
