Clinical Operations Head

Job Purpose:

To oversee, manage, and improve all clinical operations of the hospital, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, efficient workflows, and coordination between clinical and administrative teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise all clinical departments (Nursing, OT, ICU, Ward, Emergency, Diagnostics, etc.) for smooth daily operations. Ensure adherence to hospital policies, NABH standards, and clinical protocols. Improve patient care quality, safety, and service delivery across all units. Monitor staff performance, duty rosters, attendance, training, and discipline. Coordinate with doctors, nursing heads, and department managers for operational issue resolution. Analyse patient flow, bed occupancy, TAT, and clinical KPIs; implement improvements. Conduct daily clinical rounds and address operational gaps. Ensure availability and maintenance of medical equipment, instruments, and critical consumables. Handle escalations related to patient experience and clinical service issues. Lead emergency preparedness, infection control compliance, and patient safety initiatives. Monitor documentation, medical records, incident reports, and audit compliance. Support HR in recruitment, competency evaluation, and training of clinical staff. Drive cost control, resource optimization, and operational efficiency. Prepare operational reports for management and participate in strategic planning.

Key Skills Required:

Strong clinical knowledge and hospital operations management experience Excellent communication, leadership & team-handling skills Problem-solving and decision-making ability Knowledge of NABH, biomedical processes, and patient safety standards Ability to work under pressure and manage multi-department operations

Qualification & Experience:

MBBS, MHA healthcare qualification 8-15 years of hospital experience; minimum 4-5 years in a leadership/operations role
