Duration: 12 weeks (extendable based on pilot success)
Reporting to: Project Lead - Immersive Training (XploR Medica)
Who you should be
should be an
academic professional
with a background in
medical or nursing education
, preferably with experience in
curriculum design and instructional methodology
. This individual will play a key role in
translating academic course objectives and clinical competencies
into structured, immersive VR training modules. The role requires a strong grasp of
learning outcomes, assessment frameworks, and simulation-based education standards
, ensuring that every VR scenario aligns with academic benchmarks and enhances experiential learning. Collaboration with subject experts, simulation designers, and technology teams will be essential to create
evidence-based, pedagogically sound, and engaging VR learning experiences
for students and trainees.
What you will do
To collaborate with XploR's internal 3D designers, developers, and instructional design team to create clinically accurate VR simulation training scenarios for medical and nursing students. The SME will ensure that all medical content, logic, and procedures within the simulation reflect real-world accuracy, protocols, and learning objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Define Case Scenarios:
Identify and outline 3-5 high-impact training cases (e.g., Basic Life Support, trauma, diabetic emergency, asthma, sepsis). Define patient presentation, vitals, history, and progression logic.
Clinical Validation:
Ensure all procedures, terminology, and treatment steps conform to accepted clinical guidelines (AHA, WHO, or national equivalents). Validate the flow, outcomes, and assessment parameters within the simulation.
Collaborate with Design & Development Team:
Work closely with 3D artists, instructional designers, and Unity/Unreal programmers to ensure medical realism in visuals, actions, and interactions. Participate in reviews of the VR environment, avatars, and responses to confirm medical accuracy.
Training & Review:
Conduct short briefing sessions for the internal team to explain medical logic. Review beta builds of scenarios and suggest corrections/improvements.
Documentation:
Provide annotated scenario scripts and reference material (protocols, charts, diagrams) for developer understanding.
Ideal Background
Qualified Doctor (MBBS/MD) or Senior Nursing Educator (MSc Nursing / BSc Nursing with 10+ years of experience) in clinical teaching, curriculum design, or medical education.
Demonstrated experience in developing medical or nursing education content, simulation-based training, or skill lab modules.
Prior involvement in curriculum development or instructional design for healthcare training programs will be a strong advantage.
Proven ability to translate complex medical procedures into structured, learner-friendly educational content.
Strong collaboration skills to work with non-medical creative and technical teams (3D artists, developers, designers).
Passionate about leveraging innovative technologies (VR/AR/XR) to advance clinical training and digital learning in the healthcare sector.
Engagement Structure
Approx. 4-6 hours per week, flexible scheduling.
Weekly coordination call + asynchronous feedback on documents or builds.
Deliverables are reviewed bi-weekly by the project lead.
Compensation
Fixed consulting fee (?30,000 for 3-month phase, depending on seniority). Option to continue as long-term content advisor or clinical reviewer after pilot success.
Expected Deliverables (Phase-1)
3- 5 validated scenario scripts with clinical flow and outcomes per month
Written guidance on protocols and learner evaluation points.
Feedback on visual and interactive prototypes.
Final sign-off on clinical accuracy for each VR module.
