Clinical Duties
Assist consultants in outpatient clinics, ward rounds, and pre/post-operative patient care.
Perform initial assessment, documentation, and management planning for patients with musculoskeletal tumors.
Assist in diagnostic procedures including biopsies, imaging review, and case discussions.
Participate in surgical procedures under supervision -- tumor resections, reconstructions, and limb salvage surgeries.
Provide perioperative and postoperative care, including wound management and monitoring for complications.
Coordinate with other specialties (medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, physiotherapy, etc.) for multidisciplinary patient management.
Inpatient & Emergency Duties
Attend inpatient rounds, prepare discharge summaries, and ensure continuity of care.
Manage emergencies related to orthopedic oncology (e.g., pathological fractures, tumor-related complications).
Participate in on-call duties as per department schedule.
Academic & Research
Participate in tumor board meetings, academic discussions, and journal clubs.
Assist in data collection, audits, and research projects related to orthopedic oncology.
Contribute to presentations and publications under consultant guidance.
Administrative
Maintain accurate patient records in EMR systems and ensure timely documentation.
Support departmental audits, accreditation requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
MBBS with valid registration (MCI/NMC or State Medical Council).
MS / DNB in Orthopaedics (mandatory).
Prior exposure or fellowship training in Orthopaedic Oncology is desirable.
Experience in a tertiary care or cancer center preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong clinical and surgical skills in orthopedics.
Interest and aptitude for oncologic and reconstructive procedures.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to handle complex and multidisciplinary cases.
Commitment to patient safety and ethical medical practice.
