Job Description

:
Perform initial assessment and detailed history-taking for ENT patients.
Conduct focused ENT examinations under supervision.
Assist in the diagnosis and management of ENT conditions such as otitis media, tonsillitis, sinusitis, vertigo, airway issues, and neck masses.
Provide wound care, dressing changes, and minor clinical procedures as delegated.
Support emergency care including epistaxis management, airway support, and foreign body removal (as permitted by competency).
2. Outpatient Clinic Support
Assist in ENT outpatient clinics by preparing patients, reviewing vital signs, and organizing clinical workflow.
Carry out audiology coordination (hearing tests, tympanometry referrals, etc.).
Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up protocols.
3. Inpatient & Ward Responsibilities
Participate in daily ward rounds with ENT consultants.
Monitor patients' clinical progress and update records in a timely manner.
Assist with pre-operative evaluation, consent processes (where allowed), and post-operative care.
Communicate with multidisciplinary teams (nursing, anesthesia, surgery, radiology).
4. Procedural Assistance
Assist consultants in ENT procedures such as nasal endoscopy, ear suctioning, dressing changes, and minor surgical interventions.
Prepare surgical instruments and maintain sterility and safety standards.
Support theatre staff in pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery.
5. Documentation & Record Keeping
Maintain accurate and complete medical records in compliance with hospital policies.
Prepare discharge summaries, progress notes, and clinic documentation.
Assist with data collection for audits, quality improvement, and reporting.
6. Administrative & Coordination Tasks
Coordinate patient follow-ups, referrals, imaging, and laboratory investigations.
Ensure proper patient flow in clinics and wards.
Support departmental meetings, case discussions, and medical audits.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Nursing, Physician Associate studies, or equivalent (depending on country role definition).
Registration or certification as required by local regulatory authority.
Prior experience in ENT or surgical department preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of ENT anatomy and common ENT conditions.
Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
Ability to work under supervision and within a multidisciplinary team.
Good communication skills and patient-education abilities.
Competence in basic clinical procedures and emergency support.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Working Conditions
Outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, emergency department, and operating theatre.
Rotational shifts, on-call duties (depending on institution).
Exposure to surgical and clinical environment
