Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. This position is essential for ensuring smooth operations within our clinical setting, particularly in outpatient dermatology and trauma care environments. A strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and patient interaction is vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in an outpatient setting. Administer medications as directed by physicians, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including medical history and treatment plans. Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and organizing equipment and supplies. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care, treatment options, and follow-up instructions. Support the clinical team during procedures by providing necessary instruments and assistance. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the supervising healthcare provider. Uphold strict confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

Proficiency in medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the clinical environment. Experience or knowledge in medication administration practices is preferred. Familiarity with anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments and procedures. Previous experience in an outpatient setting, particularly within dermatology or trauma care, is a plus. Understanding of geriatrics to cater to the needs of older patients effectively. Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or similar hospital environment is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while providing compassionate patient care. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with patients of diverse backgrounds effectively.
