Position Summary
THE ROLE
Spencer Stuart is looking for a team lead to drive performance of an innovative analyst cohort called 'Team Everest', to support our senior consultants across their client portfolios. In this position, you will have a unique opportunity to learn about specific industry sectors such as healthcare, technology, industrials, or finance as well as functional areas such as CEOs, CFOs, Chief Product and Engineering Leaders, and other top executive roles. You will help drive our project management and HR management efforts by working closely this cohort of analysts, who you will not only mentor throughout their journey at Spencer Stuart but will also help guide them as they get started in their professional careers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading Everest research team (analysts and document specialists)Managing and delivering a best in class, high performing research team, in conjunction with Research Director India and Research Director - Americas, who are: motivated, well-trained, properly measured, properly compensated, kept up to date with firm priorities and initiatives, highly effective in supporting Consultants and their clients and collaborative and work well together as a team Develop the processes research team will use to collaborate with and add value to US Search teams Maintaining oversight of, and seeking to resolve, workload and resourcing issues Identifying and developing opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation Represent Everest team at firm leadership forums and be viewed as an active and credible contributor Need to have a global mindset. Must be able to build strong interconnectivity with research directors across regions and other international stakeholders

Developing Everest research teamEnsuring consistency of the research service through appropriate hiring practices, suitable training and development activities and through championing high performance and improving underperformance as measured by the research metrics and direct feedback through the appraisal process Leading hiring activities with support of Research Directors and HR by identifying prospects, interviewing finalist research candidates for the team and maintaining a high bar for new hires, engaging onboarding process as well as a consistent message in respect of career paths and opportunities Developing and delivering regular relevant training courses in coordination with L&D team Ensuring appraisal process is effective, timely and provide specific input on individuals

Driving engagement for Everest research teamLeading regular team calls Championing and raising awareness of new initiatives affecting / involving Everest - Follow the Sun team Bring new thinking into how research can enhance productivity and add real value in a constantly evolving and competitive landscape

Delivering Research support
The Everest Team Lead role combines responsibilities of an execution Associate with management oversight of the Everest research team. It is anticipated that, on average, the management role may take circa 2 days per week leaving 3 days for the market facing search related activities of an Associate albeit with a lower research workload to reflect the time taken to oversee the management of the team.
Market facing search role:Contribute actively to the search by participating in and assisting in the development of the search strategy and target list of companies. As appropriate contribute to winning client pitches by providing benchmark candidate profiles and other background information Gather relevant information regarding the appropriate industries and target companies, including identifying potential prospects and sources Represent client effectively in the marketplace and present a comprehensive universe of qualified candidates by partnering with the Consultant(s) and observing aspects of confidentiality throughout the search process. Anticipate needs to drive the search to closure and be prepared to supply additional information, such as related industry trends, market findings, reaction to the opportunity, compensation data, etc., gained during the course of a search. Communicate effectively with the search team, including Consultant(s), other Associates/Senior Associates and Executive Assistant(s) and remain fully abreast of search developments in order to communicate accurately and credibly regarding the assignment. Prepare organized information for the client progress report/meeting by teaming with the Consultant(s) and the Executive Assistant(s). Provide an informed perspective on prospects/candidates and how they line up against the key selection criteria outlined by the client. Ensure up to date assignment, company and candidate information during the course of an assignment is always available for colleagues, by leveraging technology and information from the Firm's state-of-the-art, proprietary database (Quest), recording all relevant candidate details using the Initial Assessment function. Be aware of activities and changes in general business and in the industry/functional areas where specialized. Add to the Firm's knowledge by identifying and beginning to develop expertise in a defined industry, functional or geographic candidate pool. Be willing and proactive about contributing to local, practice or Firm-wide initiatives. Coordinate and share practice related information to the KM for potentially broader distribution, participate in practice calls and meetings as appropriate. Adopt and adhere diligently to Firm policies and standards for candidate validation, documentation and assessment as well as demonstrating professional behavior and living our values (including adherence to Red Book, Quest policies etc.)
