About the role:
SwiftRe is an efficient web-based platform providing mid-market and facultative business to our clients. It is an easy to use and efficient online risk placement, claims and accounting channel for clients. This position includes handling a client portfolio with detailed operational focus, steering parameters from post-bind experience and contributing in process and system development.
The role comprises, but not limited to, the following elements:

  • Core portfolio comprises of Single Fac risks via SwiftRe Platform and Fac Facilities via Fac Portal
  • Managing own portfolio of clients who are insurance companies/brokers from several different geographies with keen focus on operational KPI excellence.
  • End to end process of managing portfolio and creating client delight - Monitoring of outstanding statements, overall cash flow management and escalations needed towards delivering business-sensitive operational results – with undiluted focus on Ease of Doing Business.
  • Ensuring that clients submit timely and quality data as per contractually agreements, subsequent analysis & uploading of insurance data into the system.
  • On exceptional need basis, supporting our clients in administering their contracts and processing statements on behalf of clients in SwiftRe portal.
  • Coordination of technical and financial accounting issues with diverse market accounting teams in various Swiss Re Units and regions.
  • Providing client administration and support regarding tools, processes and record management.
  • Training the clients on a regular basis to update their knowledge on SwiftRe’s accounting and payments processes.
  • The role also includes strong interactions with our internal cross-functional and Underwriting teams (via email, phone and in-person visits)
  • Identify opportunities for simplification, support process improvements and system enhancement. Collaborate with Business Expert Networks on regular basis for sustainable implementation of client processes.
  • Participation in User Acceptance Testing and reporting out of user summary as required.


About the team:
The makeup of the team includes 11-12 niche Operations Experts fully responsible for all back-office processes and some front-end processes of SwiftRe suite landscape. In line with our strategy, the team is expanding its efforts onto newer Solutions and is expected to rise in volume and complexity. Main scope of your intervention will be the German and Austrian markets, but as per business need also other markets to generate full benefit of our wider team structure in Operations. Our responsibilities require regular interactions with peers and experts from other global locations. We have a strong link to the other Business Management teams and collaborate on a daily basis to deliver best service and most value to our clients.

About you:
  • Business proficiency in German language – minimum B2/Graduation level mandatory.
  • Minimum Bachelor/Master's in Finance, Accounting or related fields. Outstanding performer with minimum 4-5 years of work experience.
  • Strong Analytical skills (flair for figures), including Advanced Excel and Microsoft Power BI skills. Proven capabilities in data handling and portfolio steering in previous work experience. SQL skills would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills. Proficient knowledge of other European or Asian languages would be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of re-insurance concepts, Accounting and Finance principles.
  • Being an agile team player with the ability to manage own workload and demonstrate a sense of Accountability, Responsibility and Commitment.
  • Ability to work together collaboratively, flexibly and constructively in a team/group environment including in virtual set-ups.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and manage multiple stakeholders (multi-cultural and cross functional teams in a virtual set-up).
  • Solid understanding of interfaces and functions. Prior experience with digital applications, automation, solutions and big data would be an advantage.
  • Insurance/Finance related certifications will be an added advantage.
