Their key duties generally include managing communications (answering calls, emails), scheduling appointments, maintaining and organizing physical and digital files, data entry, handling office supplies, and providing customer service support. Typical Duties of a Clerical Officer Answering and directing phone calls, emails, and other communications Greeting visitors and providing assistance Scheduling appointments and managing calendars Creating, maintaining, and organizing files, both physical and digital Preparing, proofreading, and editing documents and correspondence Inputting data accurately into databases and maintaining record accuracy Ordering office supplies and managing inventory Coordinating with vendors and service providers Assisting in preparation of reports and other administrative tasks Handling confidential information with discretion
