, preferably a former Customs Officer, with in-depth knowledge of import-export procedures, customs laws, and clearance documentation.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth, compliant, and timely clearance of shipments, both imports and exports, while adhering to all applicable rules and regulations under Customs, DGFT, GST, and allied acts.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the end-to-end customs clearance process for imports and exports.
Prepare, verify, and submit necessary shipping and customs documents such as Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, Invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin.
Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs officials, and other related stakeholders to ensure timely clearances.
Advise the company on classification of goods, applicable duties, exemptions, and incentive schemes (e.g., EPCG, MEIS, RoDTEP, etc.).
Ensure strict compliance with Customs Act, FEMA, Import Export Policy (FTP), DGFT notifications, GST laws, and other relevant regulations.
Handle queries, objections, assessments, and audits raised by customs authorities or other government agencies.
Maintain accurate records of all clearance documents and duty payments for internal audits and statutory requirements.
Monitor and track shipments and proactively resolve any clearance delays or bottlenecks.
Keep the company updated with any changes in laws, policies, or customs procedures.
Requirements:
Minimum
15 years
of hands-on experience in customs clearance and regulatory compliance.
Ex-Customs Officer
or experience working with/for a reputed CHA preferred.
Strong understanding of Indian Customs, DGFT policies, GST, and international trade documentation.
Proficiency in preparing Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, and handling ICEGATE/EDI systems.
Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
Ability to troubleshoot clearance issues and interact effectively with customs and government authorities.
Education & Qualifications:
Graduate in any discipline (Commerce/Logistics preferred).
Additional certification in
International Trade / Export-Import Management / Customs Procedures
will be an advantage.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and industry standards.
