Duties & Responsibilities of Cleaning Staff
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wash floors regularly
Clean and disinfect toilets, washrooms, and sinks
Dust and wipe furniture, windows, doors, and fixtures
Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly
Refill toiletries such as soap, handwash, and toilet paper
Clean common areas including corridors, staircases, and waiting areas
Maintain cleanliness of pantry/kitchen areas
Follow hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards
Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
Report any damages, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to supervisors
Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning materials
Support infection control practices (especially in healthcare/rehab centres)
