Job Summary:
The CKD Operations Manager will be responsible for strategically planning, managing, and coordinating all aspects of the Complete Knock Down (CKD) process. This role ensures the efficient, timely, and cost-effective flow of components from the manufacturing source to international assembly plants while maintaining high-quality standards and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of logistics, and proven experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
End-to-End CKD Operations Management
: Manage the entire CKD order cycle, from production scheduling to final delivery and reassembly coordination.
Packaging and Containerization
: Oversee the design, development, and certification of packaging materials and handling systems to ensure components are safely and efficiently packed into containers, optimizing space and minimizing damage.
Logistics and Inventory Control
: Plan and manage logistics, warehousing, transportation, and customer services for CKD kits. This includes tracking inventory levels, managing stock keeping units (SKUs), and resolving any shipment delays or issues.
Documentation and Compliance
: Ensure all operations are legally compliant with international customs and trade regulations. Prepare and manage essential documentation, such as Bills of Material (BOM), shipping manifests, and customs documentation.
Quality Control and Process Improvement
: Implement quality control measures and conduct regular inspections of CKD packaging and components. Analyze performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Coordination
: Liaise and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders, including internal departments (Plant, PPC, Supply Chain, Manufacturing), suppliers, manufacturers, and external vendors/carriers, to ensure smooth execution of CKD dispatches.
Budget and Cost Management
: Examine financial data, manage budgets, and implement cost-saving initiatives related to logistics and packaging to improve profitability.
Team Leadership
: Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor logistics staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence within the team.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education
: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field is typically required. An MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
Experience
: Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations, preferably within an industry that utilizes CKD/SKD processes (e.g., automotive).
Technical Skills
:
Proficiency in standard logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, WMS).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and performance metrics to drive informed decision-making.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
