Job Title: Civil & Structural Head Substation Projects (MNC)
Location: Chennai, India
Qualification: B.E. / B. Tech in Civil & Structural Engineering (Mandatory) Preferably M.E. / M. Tech in Structural / Geotechnical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 20+ years in Civil & Structural Engineering Must have extensive experience in Design, Construction, Commissioning & Maintenance of Substations / Power Distribution Projects
Key Responsibilities
Lead complete Civil & Structural engineering design for substation projects.Ensure on-time project delivery with strict adherence to quality, safety, and budget.
Supervise feasibility, profitability, and sequence of construction activities.
Coordinate with Electrical, MEP & Instrumentation teams for integrated design solutions.
Extend technical support to Contracts (pre-bid) & Site Execution teams.
Ensure compliance with international codes & standards without compromising safety.
Conduct risk analysis and facilitate clear decision-making for design & execution.
Drive standardization, modularization, and digitalization across engineering functions.
Conduct review meetings with project, cluster, and country heads for project alignment.
Mentor & upgrade the skills of Project Engineering Managers, Lead Engineers, and Design Teams. Technical Expertise
Proficiency in Substation Structural Design: Steel Structures, RCC Structures, Geotechnical aspects.
Strong knowledge of site conditions (topographic & environmental) impacting design.
Adept at handling design inputs & execution challenges in substation projects. Operating Network
Internal: EDRC Head, Heads of Engineering, Project Engineering Managers, Operations Team
External: Clients (decision-making levels), Consultants (Team Leads) Key Value Drivers
