Civil Site Supervisor -
Overview
A Civil Site Supervisor oversees and coordinates on-site construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and as per project specifications. The role involves supervising labour, managing materials, maintaining quality, and assisting the project engineer/manager in day-to-day site operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in Civil Engineering / BE Civil / relevant experience.
Fresher/2 years of experience in site supervision.
Knowledge of civil construction activities, safety rules, drawings, and measurements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision
Monitor daily construction activities and ensure work is executed as per drawings and standards.
Supervise labour teams, subcontractors, and equipment usage.
Maintain discipline, productivity, and safety among workers.
2. Quality Control
Check workmanship quality for concreting, shuttering, plastering, masonry, reinforcement, and finishing works.
Ensure materials used meet required specifications.
Report any deviations and take corrective actions.
3. Planning & Coordination
Coordinate with Project Manager, Engineers, and subcontractors for smooth workflow.
Plan daily work schedules and allocate manpower.
Ensure timely delivery and usage of materials.
4. Measurement & Reporting
Maintain daily site reports, labour attendance, and progress details.
Assist in measuring work quantities for billing.
Update management on project milestones and delays.
5. Safety Management
Enforce safety rules and ensure all workers follow PPE and safe work practices.
Identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
6. Material Handling
Check incoming materials, verify quality, and ensure proper storage.
Track usage to reduce wastage and maintain stock levels.
7. Documentation
Maintain site documents: drawings, checklists, inspection reports.
Assist during site inspections by clients, consultants, and authorities.
