The Civil Site Engineer is responsible for supervising, executing, and managing all civil and structural works at the project site. The role ensures that all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and the project schedule.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Site Supervision & Execution
Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities, including foundations, concreting, formwork, rebar, masonry, and finishing works.
Ensure work is performed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Check levels, layout, and alignments using survey instruments and coordinate with the land survey team.
Verify quantities and ensure proper utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
Monitor subcontractor works and ensure adherence to project requirements.
B. Quality Control
Conduct inspections before, during, and after execution to maintain quality workmanship.
Prepare and submit Inspection Requests (IRs) for client/consultant approval.
Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and maintain site inspection records.
Report and assist in rectifying any non-conformities or deviations.
C. Safety and Compliance
Enforce safety rules and ensure that all personnel on site follow HSE guidelines.
Identify potential hazards and report unsafe practices or conditions.
Coordinate with HSE officers for toolbox talks and daily safety briefings.
D. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with Project Engineer, surveyors, subcontractors, and other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc.).
Attend daily/weekly site meetings and provide progress updates.
Liaise with the Client's Engineer / Consultant for inspections and technical clarifications.
E. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily site diaries and progress reports.
Record material deliveries, work progress, and manpower deployment.
Prepare as-built drawings, measurement sheets, and support quantity take-offs.
Assist in preparing method statements and work checklists.
3. Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
1-5 years (preferably in [building / infrastructure / industrial / marine] projects).
Technical Skills:
Good knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and leveling instruments (Total Station, Theodolite, etc.).
Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project standards.
Familiar with QA/QC and HSE practices.
