The Civil Site Engineer - Repairs & Maintenance is responsible for executing and supervising day-to-day civil repair and maintenance works, ensuring all building structures and external infrastructure remain safe, functional, and aesthetically sound. The role includes managing small refurbishments, water-proofing, masonry, and structural safety while coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Daily Site Activities
Inspect and assess structural issues, damages, cracks, leakages, or other defects.
Execute civil repairs related to plastering, tiling, concrete works, doors/windows, painting, and waterproofing.
Monitor ongoing maintenance works for quality, material usage, and timelines.
B. Preventive & Reactive Maintenance
Plan and schedule preventive maintenance activities for buildings, pathways, drainage systems, boundary walls, etc.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests raised by departments or facility users.
Ensure all works follow safety, quality, and compliance guidelines.
C. Vendor & Contractor Coordination
Supervise third-party contractors during repair works.
Verify measurements and approve bills post satisfactory completion.
Coordinate material procurement and site logistics with the store or procurement team.
D. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily work progress reports and site diaries.
Prepare repair estimates, BOQs, and material consumption reports.
Assist in preparing inspection reports and submitting regular status updates to supervisors.
E. Safety & Compliance
Ensure safe work practices at all times on-site.
Adhere to site safety regulations, including PPE usage and fall protection.
Identify and report any structural risks or hazards.
3. Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals and building materials
Practical knowledge of structural repair methods, waterproofing systems, and finishes
Ability to read and interpret drawings, BOQs, and specifications
Good communication and coordination skills
Familiarity with MS Excel, AutoCAD, and basic construction management tools
4. Qualifications & Experience
Education
: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
Experience
: 3-6 years in building maintenance and civil repair roles
Preferred
: Experience in institutional, residential, or commercial property management
5. Working Conditions
Field-based role involving daily site visits and physical inspections
May require work during off-hours or weekends in case of urgent repairs
Exposure to dust, noise, and typical construction environments
