Job Description

The UPSC Faculty will teach and mentor aspirants for the

UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE)

, covering

Prelims, Mains & Interview

.
The role requires

deep subject expertise

, clear explanation ability, and a strong grip on

Current Affairs, GS papers, and past UPSC trends

.

Key ResponsibilitiesA. Teaching Responsibilities



Teach subjects from

General Studies (GS I, GS II, GS III, GS IV)

or

Optional Subject

(as assigned). Break down complex topics into

simple, exam-oriented explanations

. Cover entire UPSC syllabus including:

History, Geography, Polity, Economy

Science & Tech, Environment, IR & Geopolitics

Ethics (GS-IV)

Essay Writing

Conduct

Prelims MCQ classes

,

Mains answer writing sessions

, and

current affairs analysis

.

B. Current Affairs & Editorial Analysis



Daily analysis of: The Hindu Indian Express PIB Yojana & Kurukshetra Rajya Sabha TV / Sansad TV debates Explain issues with: Background Causes Impact Government initiatives Way forward (Mains-focused)

C. Mains Answer Writing & Evaluation



Teach structure, introductions, conclusions, diagrams, flowcharts. Evaluate answer sheets with constructive feedback. Conduct

Mains-oriented writing workshops

.

D. Prelims Preparation



Conduct topic-wise MCQ practice for GS. Frame questions similar to UPSC level (conceptual & tricky). Teach elimination techniques and logical guessing.

E. Mentorship & Guidance



Provide

one-on-one mentorship

to students. Help aspirants with: Study planning Strategy for Prelims/Mains Optional subject selection Doubt-solving Mock interviews

F. Content Development



Prepare: Study notes GS handouts Mind maps & flowcharts Prelims test series Mains question banks Model answers Update content based on

new bills, acts, policies, and govt schemes

.

3. Skills & Competencies Required



Deep understanding of the

UPSC syllabus & exam pattern

. Strong command over one or more GS areas: Polity Economy History Geography Science & Tech International Relations Ethics Clear explanation ability with structured teaching style. Good analytical and editorial reading skills. Exciting/engaging teaching ability (storytelling preferred). Ability to create diagrams, charts, and easy-to-remember frameworks.

4. Qualification Requirements



Graduate or Postgraduate in relevant field: Political Science Public Administration History Geography Economics Sociology Science & Tech backgrounds or UPSC-related disciplines Candidates with the following are

highly preferred

: UPSC Mains cleared UPSC Interview faced Optional subject expertise
