Civil Engineer Responsibilities and Duties

Plan and design infrastructure projects including Residential commercial buildings Conduct site investigations Supervising and feasibility studies Prepare engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and zoning regulations Perform risk assessments and manage budgets and schedules Use CAD software and modeling tools to draft plans Oversee construction activities and ensure adherence to plans Coordinate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders Provide technical guidance and problem-solving during project execution

Civil Engineer Qualifications and Skills

Strong mathematical and analytical skills Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other engineering software Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal codes Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and project management abilities Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (required) Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred or required depending on project scope) 7+ years of experience in civil engineering or infrastructure development Experience with public works, transportation, or environmental engineering projects
