A foreman is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of construction projects, working collaboratively with other professionals and leading and guiding execution team, labour, vendors to deliver high-quality results to the client on time.
1. Site Supervision
Oversee daily site operations and workforce.
Ensure construction activities are executed as per the project plans and schedule.
Supervise subcontractors, laborers, and equipment operators.
2. Planning and Scheduling
Coordinate daily work schedules and manpower.
Ensure resources (materials, tools, equipment) are available.
Work with engineers and project managers to plan and prioritize tasks.
3. Quality Control
Inspect work to ensure it meets required standards and specifications.
Report any defects or rework issues to engineers or supervisors.
Ensure compliance with approved drawings and materials.
4. Safety Management
Enforce safety protocols and procedures on site.
Conduct toolbox talks and daily safety briefings.
Monitor site for potential hazards and ensure PPE usage.
5. Resource Management
Manage materials and ensure minimum wastage.
Keep records of material usage and requisition new supplies as needed.
Coordinate equipment usage and maintenance.
6. Reporting and Documentation
Maintain daily site records (e.g., manpower, progress, delays).
Prepare and submit progress reports to supervisors or project managers.
Track attendance, work hours, and labor productivity.
7. Communication
Serve as the main point of contact between workers and higher management.
Relay instructions, changes, and feedback between the engineering team and workforce.
Resolve minor conflicts and maintain a productive work environment.
8. Problem Solving
Identify and solve day-to-day issues that may affect project progress.
Quickly adapt to unexpected changes in weather, materials, or manpower.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and Quality standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals, such as architects and project managers., Sub-contractors, Workers
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to manage resources, such as materials, labor, and equipment.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Finishing site engineers should be willing to travel to the project site as per business requirements.
