An Estimation Engineer in civil construction is responsible for calculating the cost, materials, labor, and time required for construction projects. They provide detailed cost estimates that guide decision-making and help in bidding for projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and other documents.
Estimate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
Tendering & Bidding
Prepare tender documents and bid proposals.
Analyze tender specifications and drawings.
Site Coordination
Collaborate with site engineers, architects, and project managers to refine estimates.
Visit sites to assess conditions and gather data.
Rate Analysis
Conduct rate analysis for labor and materials based on current market trends.
Budget Preparation.
Prepare project budgets and monitor cost control systems.
Vendor & Sub Contractor Coordination
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and negotiate pricing.
Skills Required:
Technical Knowledge
: Strong grasp of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
Analytical Skills
: Ability to analyze data, plans, and market rates.
