Job Description

A Civil Estimation Engineer's main role is to analyze project documents like drawings and specifications to create detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and other resources. Key responsibilities include collaborating with project managers and vendors, preparing budgets and reports, and ensuring estimates are accurate and competitive. They also monitor project costs and identify potential savings and process improvements.

Core responsibilities

Cost estimation:



Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other expenses.

Documentation and reporting:



Prepare bid packages, compile tenders, and create progress reports and cost tracking reports for management.

Collaboration:



Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure the estimate aligns with project requirements.

Vendor and subcontractor management:



Build relationships with vendors and subcontractors, analyze their quotations, negotiate prices, and ensure accurate input for estimates.

Cost control:



Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, track actual expenditures against the budget, and identify cost-saving opportunities or value engineering solutions.

Risk assessment:



Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed designs and estimate impacts.

Industry knowledge:



Keep up-to-date with industry standards, new materials, and construction methods to ensure estimates remain current and competitive.

Key skills and qualifications

Technical skills:



Proficient in analyzing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Software proficiency:



Experience with estimation software, MS Office Suite (especially Excel), and potentially design or cost modeling tools.

Analytical skills:



Strong ability to analyze data, identify costs, and develop cost-effective solutions.

Communication:



Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present estimates and reports to management and collaborate with team members.

Attention to detail:



A high degree of accuracy is required for precise and comprehensive estimates.

Project management:



Understanding of project management principles and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
