Role Title: Civil & Engineering Project Incharge

Reporting to: Project Manager / Operations Head
Experience Required: 3-5 Years in Civil and Project Handling
Salary Range: ?25,000 - ?30,000
1. Objective
To ensure smooth and timely execution of all civil and engineering projects across company sites through efficient planning, labor and material management, quality control, coordination with internal and external teams, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Project Planning & Execution
Understand project scope, timelines, drawings, and specifications.
Break down work into daily, weekly, and monthly plans.
Track project progress and report delays or bottlenecks proactively.
Ensure proper site layout, leveling, and preparation before commencement.
B. Site Supervision
Monitor day-to-day activities at all ongoing project sites.
Ensure work is being done as per drawings, quality standards, and safety norms.
Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure they adhere to timelines.
Identify on-site problems and provide solutions without compromising quality or budget.
C. Labour Management
Assign tasks to skilled and unskilled labor based on skill sets and work priorities.
Monitor daily attendance, productivity, and discipline of workers.
Resolve any labor disputes in coordination with HR/Manager.
Keep labor count within project cost parameters.
D. Material Management
Coordinate with procurement/purchase team to ensure timely availability of materials.
Monitor usage of materials to prevent wastage and pilferage.
Maintain material inward/outward register and stock ledger.
Prepare and share material requirement forecasts in advance.
E. Vendor & Contractor Coordination
Collect and compare quotations for materials and material execution services from multiple vendors.
Evaluate quotes based on cost, quality, and delivery timelines in coordination with the purchase team.
Work closely with selected vendors and civil contractors to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Inspect material delivered for quality and quantity compliance.
Maintain proper documentation and billing verification for vendor payments.
F. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain daily site reports including manpower, work progress, and material movement.
Submit weekly and monthly progress reports to management.
Maintain all site documentation as per company standards.
Track project budgets and submit variance reports as required.
G. Government Approvals & Compliance
Ensure all required government approvals (local body permissions, safety clearances, construction-related licenses, etc.) are identified and applied for.
Coordinate with legal or liaison teams to follow up on approval status.
Maintain records of all permits, inspection reports, and compliance documents.
Ensure the project is executed in accordance with applicable regulatory norms.
3. Skills Required
Sound knowledge of construction practices, civil materials, and structural execution.
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and BOQs.
Familiarity with local building laws and approval processes.
Leadership and people management skills.
Basic knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD (optional but preferred), and project tracking.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
4. Work Timings & Travel
Standard company working hours; flexible depending on project urgency.
Willingness to travel to multiple project sites across locations.
