Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs related to construction projects, from initial estimation to final account settlement. The role ensures that projects are completed within the approved budget while maintaining quality, contractual compliance, and financial efficiency.

Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting

Prepare detailed

Bill of Quantities (BOQ)

based on drawings and specifications. Conduct

cost estimation

and feasibility studies during the pre-construction stage. Prepare

project budgets

, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts. Analyze and control project costs to prevent budget overruns.

Tendering & Procurement

: Prepare and issue

tender documents

to contractors and vendors. Evaluate tender submissions and prepare

comparative statements

. Assist in finalizing contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Coordinate with the purchase/procurement team for material pricing. Take accurate

quantity measurements

from drawings and site. Assist in drafting and reviewing

contracts and agreements

. Maintain records for approvals, variations, and correspondence.

Coordination & Site Support

Coordinate with

site engineers, architects, consultants, and clients

. Attend site meetings and progress review discussions. Assist in project close-out and final account settlement.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of

construction methods and materials

. Proficiency in

BOQ preparation and cost estimation

. Good understanding of

contracts, specifications, and drawings

. Ability to analyze costs and prepare accurate reports. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Software & Tools

MS Excel, MS Word AutoCAD (quantity take-off) Estimation & billing software (e.g., Plan Swift, Candy, CostX - preferred)

Educational Qualifications

B. Tech / B.E / Diploma in Civil Engineering

Certification in Quantity Surveying (preferred)

Experience

Experience

0-1 years of experience in construction projects (Residential / Commercial / Infrastructure) Fresh graduates with strong BOQ and estimation skills may also be considered.
