Job Summary
The Tendering Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting competitive tenders and bids in line with client requirements. The role involves cost estimation, technical analysis, coordination with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, pricing, and technical proposals.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning, and project teams for inputs.
Identify risks, assumptions, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
Request and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
Ensure tenders comply with client, legal, and company requirements.
Prepare clarifications, attend pre-bid meetings, and respond to client queries.
Maintain tender records, cost databases, and historical pricing.
Support contract negotiation and handover to project execution teams after award.
Monitor tender deadlines and ensure timely submission.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil )
Additional certification in Estimation, Contracts, or Project Management is an advantage.
Experience
2-8 years of experience in tendering, estimation, or proposal engineering (depending on seniority).
Experience in [construction / EPC) Familiarity with local and international tendering procedures.
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Good understanding of drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Proficiency in MS Excel, estimation software, and ERP systems.
Knowledge of procurement and subcontracting processes.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders.
Attention to detail and commercial awareness.
