Translate conceptual designs into detailed plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Incorporate and follow design standards for road geometry and cross-sections.
Prepare drawings for drainage systems, signage plans, and other highway elements.
Utilize survey data to produce contour plans, layouts, and plan and profile drawings (PPD).
Generate drawings for related infrastructure like bridges and culverts.
Prepare detailed drawings of reinforced concrete (RCC) retaining walls, including plans, elevations, sections, and reinforcement details.
Detail the reinforcement of structural elements like walls, foundations, and slabs.
Interpret engineering sketches and specifications to produce accurate, buildable drawings.
Coordinate with structural engineers to incorporate design changes and updates.
Assist in generating shop drawings and working drawings for construction.

Documentation control:
Maintain and update a register of all drawings and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Revisions and updates:
Incorporate revisions and change orders in a timely manner and provide updated drawings to the project team.
Estimation and quantity take-offs:
Assist the project team by providing measurements and quantities from drawings for material estimations.
Field data coordination:
Liaise with surveyors to gather and incorporate field data into drawings.
Compliance:
Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
Collaboration:
Work closely with civil engineers, architects, surveyors, and construction teams to ensure design accuracy and provide clarity on drawings.

Education:
A diploma in Civil Engineering or Draughtsmanship is typically required.
Software proficiency:
Expertise is needed in industry-standard CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Civil 3D for highway projects. Knowledge of Revit and other Building Information Modeling (BIM) software is also valuable.
