Responsibilities

Create and revise drawings:

Develop detailed architectural and engineering plans for construction projects, such as buildings, bridges, and roads, using CAD software.

Collaborate with professionals:

Work closely with architects, engineers, and surveyors to understand project requirements and translate design concepts into precise technical drawings.

Ensure compliance:

Verify that all plans and drawings adhere to relevant industry standards, building codes, and project specifications.

Manage documentation:

Maintain accurate records of drawings and related documentation, updating them as needed to reflect project changes.

Conduct site visits:

Visit construction sites to gather data, verify measurements, and ensure that optimized plans align with real-world conditions.

Assist with project tasks:

Help prepare project proposals, technical documents, cost estimates, and schedules, providing support to project managers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

CAD Proficiency:

Expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D, for creating and modifying drawings.

Technical Knowledge:

A strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and relevant codes and regulations.

Attention to Detail:

A keen eye for detail and accuracy to ensure the precision of technical drawings.

Communication Skills:

Ability to effectively communicate with engineers, architects, and other team members to clarify project requirements and provide support.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during the design and drafting process.

Adaptability:

Flexibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing project scopes.

Education:

An associate degree or certification in drafting or a related field is often preferred.
