The Civil CAD Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs on Civil CAD software and related civil engineering design principles. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in civil engineering, extensive experience with various CAD software, and excellent communication and instructional skills to effectively guide learners of varying skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery:
Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions (both in-person and virtual) on various Civil CAD software applications.
Demonstrate drafting, modeling, and analysis techniques for real-world civil engineering projects (e.g., infrastructure design, land development, transportation, water systems).
Provide hands-on guidance and support to learners, ensuring they gain practical proficiency and apply concepts effectively.
Offer one-on-one mentorship and troubleshoot technical issues during training.
Curriculum Development:
Develop, update, and maintain high-quality training manuals, courseware, and instructional materials.
Design practical exercises, projects, and assessments that align with industry standards and real-world scenarios.
Ensure training content remains current with the latest software updates, industry trends, and civil engineering best practices.
Assessment and Feedback:
Evaluate learner progress through assessments, practical projects, and regular feedback sessions.
Provide constructive criticism and support to foster skill improvement and understanding.
Software Expertise & Industry Knowledge:
Stay updated with advancements in Civil CAD software and civil engineering practices.
Collaborate with industry experts to ensure training content aligns with real-world requirements.
Organize and conduct workshops/seminars on advanced CAD techniques, Building Information Modeling (BIM), GIS tools, and emerging technologies in civil engineering.
Collaboration & Support:
Collaborate with other trainers and departments to enhance training programs and promote interdisciplinary learning.
Assist in preparing trainees for placement opportunities in CAD-related roles.
Maintain records of training sessions, attendance, and trainee progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (e.g., Architecture, Construction Management).
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in civil engineering design or CAD training.
Proven experience in a training or instructional role is highly preferred.
Technical Proficiency (Expert-level in several of the following):
AutoCAD:
Especially AutoCAD Civil 3D for terrain modeling, road design, site planning, and utility layouts.
SketchUp:
For conceptual design and visualization.

Civil Engineering Knowledge:
Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles, concepts, and methodologies.
Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
